When did you start your yoga journey?
I started yoga in 2013. I couldn't do any of the poses and loved every minute of it. I became a RYT-200 in 2015 because I wanted to teach my friends and family the joys of yoga! I took 2 years off because of heart surgery. I restarted my yoga journey with the opening of the 108 Yoga studio.
What do you enjoy the most about your practice?
I love that in yoga you never "arrive". Every time you step on the mat it's a new experience that day. Yoga is a journey that doesn't end and I love that.
What’s your favorite thing about 108 Yoga?
My favorite thing about 108 Yoga is the family. Tracy gently pushing us forward to be our best. Chad giving you permission to be human. Kyra quietly and lovingly calling you out on your excuses. Saylor (my rock) is a constant ray of sunshine and sass. Their authenticity attracts authentic people. So, when I say family I mean all of us. WE are my favorite thing about 108 Yoga.
What do you like to do when you’re not at yoga?
When not practicing yoga, I am taking care of two cats, Mr. Darcy and Dewey. I am a bit of a foodie. I will travel FAR for great food! I'm also a huge nerd, so you will see me at Ren-Faires, weird museums, shows, concerts, etc.
Whats your walkout song?
“PRESSURE!” -Nyck Caution
One word to describe you?
Bubbly!
What is your favorite class? And why?
108...how I love thee! Let me count the ways... Empowering, meditative, healing and requiring discipline. The repetitiveness of 108 allows me to look inward. There's no noise, no music. Just you, your thoughts/intentions and Tracy's beautiful voice gently guiding you through it all and back if you happened to get lost in yourself. Also, if I did 108 sun salutations that day, I'm feeling pretty empowered and strong-so don't mess with me.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
Most people don't know I was a Baptist children and youth pastor for 15 years.
